english or metric system?

Two systems of measurement that we know of, from weight to length to volumes to density to everything that scientist and lab rats can put a handle to, seen that mastercard commercial? there are things that are priceless (contrary to being worthless), but for anything else, there's always u'r mastercard...

for all the things we can measure, how do we measure friendship?... a "friend" ask me "ano sukatan mo?"... let me see, is it the length of time my friend spends with me? or the number of times my friend goes out and see me, say, in a week? maybe the number of people we agree to hate (mean, mean, mean)? how about the number of text messages my friend sends me in a day?.. the price of the gift i receive from my friend?? wait... the number of times i my friends hugs, kiss (cheeks) or make besso to me? hmmm... the number of compliments/flattery i get in a day from my friend?

now, now... we can go on all day but say all of these are good ways of "measurement" (im sure there's more) how then can we weigh all these proportionately so we can imagine playing in our head a nagging voice from a host in a beauty pageant -

HOST: the criteria for these year's beauty pageant are SWIMSUIT = 30%, EVENING GOWN = 30%,
STAGE PRESENCE =40% for a total of 100%

well.... lemme think... uh-oh.. i'm a materialistic creep... so the price of the gift i receive comprises 90% and the rest 10%. NO!!!.. i'm a self-centered, insecure person that the number of compliments/ flattery i get in a day from my friend gets 100%, if i dont get that... then that person is not my friend. blah blah blah blah blah blah...... yakity yak yak yak yak yak.....

So now, ano nga ba sukatan ko? ..... should i even measure or put to scale the friendship of my friends... sorry it's not my thing... coz if i'm put to the scale... i dont know how low or high the digits will register or how much angle the needle will deflect... i don't wanna know... i might not even be a deserving recipient of a friendship... u might be too... then there shouldn't be a question to begin with afterall.
