Fun, Happiness, Misery

My personal definition of

FUN: its a shortlived "time-out" from the misery of the world, of our country or of our own very lives. like when were on a sugar overload, we feel the sudden surge of energy that once we burn all that sugar we feel down and spent, barely able to lift a finger. I also look at the analogy of a match stick. Like fun, a match is easily accesible, from sari-sari stores, in your kitchen, light the stick on the side of the box and immediately you have a flame. easy as 1-2-3. But hold the stick upright (much like if ur uptight to fun) then the flame is short lived. Yes, we can do things to prolong it so that it will "last", you twist the stick, invert the stick so the flame burns your entire stick and hah!! you eventually have to let go coz u'll get burned. That's fun, its short-lived and when its doen - you'll be left with darkness and pain.

Happiness: its playing scrabble after work where two players compete on board space, letter drawlots, highest score. It is when one lets the other win but later on both want to win at the expense of the other, keeping the letter U's in case of drawing the Q or simply just so that the other player won't have no use for the letter Q... but at the end of tue game, u hug, cuddle, kiss, and what have you.... despite the jeering from scoring a "scrabble". Ladies and gentlemen, that is happiness

well as sad as it may be... there is MISERY - what you'll get when you combine fun and happiness. Thinking that they are one and the same, hoping that fun will last so long it makes you happy. Remember!! fun will burn you later on, no matter how long it lasts.. it will burn... it will hurt, lucky you if you're left with no scar but most often than not it will. Not the visible one but the kind that jades you for life, transform you optimism to pessimism, half full to half empty. No matter how you try, happiness will never come from fun, nor will fun beget happiness. if only you can kick yourself in the head.

I don't want to run away, from all that fun
from which i thought the world stops
yet too late do i realize, that i can only heave a sigh,
that my life's a standstill on the fast lane of gimiks and stuff

Now i see, that everyone has gone
Alone!!! Forever in despair
for the happiness I threw away
the stupid words i didn't have to say

But despite the misery
i know i made someone happy
unknowingly, diguised in pain, in loneliness, in despair
it was just a case of being fair
