Christmas Party

It's Christmastime,
there's no need to be afraid
At Christmastime,
we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plentywe can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world
at Christmastime

But say a prayer,
pray for the other ones
At Christmastime
it's hard,but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window,
and it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowingis the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring thereare the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them
instead of you

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime
The greatest gift they'll get this year is life(Oooh)
Where nothing ever grows
No rain or rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Here's to you raise a glass for everyone
Here's to them underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again

Almost Christmas

A time of giving... of sharing... of happy things... of forgetting grudges... of LOVE.
Idealism is never bad, but denial of reality is and will always be.... bad to make an understatement.

The X-mas season always has to be full of optimism, hope, joy... that's how we want things to be, yet tragedy strikes at this most (supposedly) happiest time of the year...

Death, Loss, Traffic Jam, robbery, Accidents (from driving drunk from all the xmas parties), how many have lost their love ones during this season? .. whether losing a battle with death... with parting.. to someone else...

Our christmas party was much awaited, a rock scene... everyone in black, dark get up. i had fun, preparation was tiring... got bored towards the end. went home, got stranded in the middle of the highway....

... let me digress a bit.... went home with Atty. Mimi, she hitched a ride with me... after dropping her off, went on my way home... blam!!! pfffftttt... tire exploded. DAMN! that's the second tire this week... (flashback in progress)... Tuesday night of this week, stopped by for a massage in our subdivision, on the way home after, BLAM!!! pfffffttt.... tire exploded...ran flat to a gas station COZ i dont have a freaking car jack (which i put off buying and now it's biting me in the ass)... thursday i put off to saturday my need on buying a new tire. Friday - xmas party (now back to the future) ... the reserve tire exploded on me... shreded into strips of rubber and steel wires... ran flat again to a gas station, but wait... I HAVE NO FREAKING RESERVE TIRE COZ I AM SUCH A DAMN PROCRASTINATOR and I STILL DONT HAVE A CAR JACK... MADDAF$%&#@!!!! called home... PU@#$%!!! naman, I dont have a load. though i had enough to make a short call to my nanay for her to return my call. They came (with my Tatay) and i tried to put the reserve tire of their car, but the sprockets have different center to center distances.. USELESS... no tire shops open at 3:00am so i left my car in sucat.

See... what i mean... there's too much inconvenience and hassles... and my experience last night was just nothing compared to what others might have gone thru..

in November 2000 less than a month before xmas, we lost our grandfather to pnemunia at the age of 92.. he just was in so much pain, eventually he succumbed to death... and xmas is a time to celebrate? for party?

maybe... just to mask the sad reality, that we want to make it almost christmas...
